Rush Limbaugh’s death known immediately after a diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer was announced by the family.

Rush Limbaugh is a hugely influential media icon who turned radio talk and politics for decades behind the microphone, helping to shape the modern Republican Party.

Rush Limbaugh died on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 morning local time at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer.

Rush Limbaugh’s wife, Kathryn, makes the announcement on her radio show.

Meeting with Trump

In recent years, he has positioned himself as a “friend” of President Trump and has stood up for him.

In February 2020, Limbaugh announced that he was diagnosed with acute lung cancer. A day later, Trump rewarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the president’s highest honor to civilians. Limbaugh also continues on air.

After rioting at the Capitol building on January 6, Limbaugh voiced support for the rioters. Like Trump, he called the corona virus an outbreak of the common cold and accused attempts to make this pandemic a tool to overthrow Trump and prevent him from being re-elected.

When Trump was first impeached in 2019, Limbaugh defended him every day while continuing to attack Joe Biden.

Limbaugh told his audience that Trump’s only fault was that he was “too successful”.

“He was impeached because his success could damage the Democratic Party,” Limbaugh said at the time.

When Trump was impeached again, Limbaugh accused Democrats of spreading lies that Trump was involved in the riots in order to not run again.

According to Limbaugh, Trump’s Democrats were “scared to death” of continuing to control the Republican Party so they wanted to get rid of him.

Trump, when he heard the news of his death, immediately called the Fox News television station for comment.

“He is a fantastic man, full of talent, and a lot of people – whether they love him or not – they respect him, have great respect,” Trump said.
